  • I could not tell any difference in the record after the cleaning. The vinyl appears to be worn out. I would not buy a record that looked like that. I use a flashlight when checking out used vinyl. My cleaning method on used vinyl ... home brew (80% Aquafina ... 17% Isopropyl alcohol ... 3% Seventh Generation general purpose cleaner). Spread the home brew and vacuum with a RCM. If the vinyl is a good pressing and sounds good after that .. I'll use the Disc Doctor record cleaner system.

  • @Condorsat10 if you compare part 2 with this you can hear a difference , this isnt the greatest record to try it on but there is a difference

  • Glad to see you did your own testing. That is how you find out what really works.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio yes , yes it is !

  • Great series of cleaning! I've been looking for months on here for exactly what you've done. I have a spin clean but haven't used it yet. I also have a Discwasher but need to locate it. Looking forward to watching your other posts.

    Thanks and take care.

  • Thanks for sharing your findings. I can definitely benefit from your research.

  • Personally I had best results starting with the handling & storing: NEVER touch the surface, middle finger sustains disk within paper label (the ones with tracklist) to turn disk use palms, needs practice though; to wash NEVER rub, go always along the grooves and opposite direction of normal play, distilled water & a drop of no foam detergent abundantly splashed on no frictions then again distil water,to dry just place it like a plate vertically & let liquid drop out, remains patted with cloth
