Hey folks. I just put some clarifying annotations on my video because people seem to assume I'm trying to pass off my 289 as being stock. Which is not the case. It's just people making assumptions.

The big problem with ford performance is simply air flow, and all old cars have this problem - friction. Better, high-flowing heads with small chambers and reduced friction are the keys- retro-roller cam/lifters and roller rockers, decent intake & carb and electric fuel and water pumps (reduced friction) is all you need to make a small block fodr run like a raped ape. Square bore design is ripe for racing with high rpm capability.

My first car was a 65 Ford Falcon with a stock 289 2bb C-4 trans and that little car kicked ass on the bigger Chevy's. I was always amazed on how fast off the line that thing was.

Ya me to i use to run chevys but finally got tired of my friends fords kicking my ass so i started running ford Cleveland and fe motors. Look what bob glidden did with the Cleveland he shut down jenkins BBC vega and yes Fords are definately faster and have more torque than chevys and i have seen many 289 motors shut down motors twice their size because they rap so fast. Most people will say chevys are so cheap to build but you get what you pay for and in that case not much.

@blitz227 have you ever drivin a stock 289?? they arent fast by any means lol.....they are definitally just cruiser motors haha.....i have one in my fairlane....soon to be a big block tho

I love sleeper car races. I also raced a 396 chevelle with my 78 302 ford granada and won by a front quarter panel shut the chevy boys up.
