@Peace0MamaCas Capoeira is not more than 500 years in it's developement. A somewhat mystical culmination of the african population in Brasil, of whom many were slaves at first. The origins of capoeira are thoroughly obscure as a consequence of the actions of the past government of Brasil. What I mean to say is: karate is older than capoeira, unless you strip them both of their title, then you might as well call them both kung-fu - martial art. Back to basics, there.
I've seen Capoeira fighters in MMA. Pure Muay Thai fighters have been KTFO by a swift Capoeira kick...if you don't believe me look it up.
There are no bad martial arts. Only bad martial artists.
Except for Tae Kwon Do. That sucks.

Generally something earns the title of 'fighting style' for a reason. BECAUSE IT WORKS. Capoeira is one of the oldest fighting styles, older than karate...and like many arts it was at one time banned because it was considered to dangerous. When you get someone who knows what they're doing, it's just as deadly as any other martial art.
