@chadzorz actually the red were the imagawa and the blue were the Oda, and the orange was the Tokugawa, what he wanted to do was for the Tokugawa to change sides at Okehazama

@chadzorz Well in the Musou games, red signifies the enemy, and the T counters denote officers on the map screen, so perhaps what Honda meant was that he'd force the enemy to retreat from that location and claim that area. Or maybe force the enemy officer's surrender.
As we see though, they didn't surrender and I don't reckon the majority made it out alive, if any.

Well.. Historically Tadakatsu's spear was named Tombo-Giri or Dragonfly Cutter but the loss of life symbolism works too.

if you look at the battle plan he layed out on the table he says "this is what I would do" and he turns the red pawn away to sgnife retreat. however as we see iyassu did not retreat and there was bloodshead and loss of life. also symbolized by the dragon fly.

this is more about symbolism. his words don't really matter. the dragon fly being cut by the speer represents war and the people who die as a result. it may also symbolize the burden of the dissision he made that day. the death of the insect standing for the death of many men if he was wrong about what to do in that battle.
