No, it was a clever publicity stunt staged on the Mustang's last Knight Rider promotion day in Toronto. After the "KITTnapping" fans who correctly identified where the car had been spotted, were entered into a draw to win various prizes. The person picked in the final draw won a brand new Mustang GT Coupe. Very nice!
