We visited this 10.25" gauge railway, situated in Poole in Dorset, on an overcast mid-week morning in April 2009. This railway first opened to the public in 1949 and so this year is its Diamond Jubilee Year.
There is a short stop part way through the journey to allow passengers to detrain and visit the Children's animal farm.
Takes me back to my childhood holidays in the 1960`s when they also had a real steam locomotive & BR late crest diesel running. There was also a lovely Coronation Scot steam engine which ran on the nearby Christchurch miniature railway.
