one side of town I find them under ash. The other side 15 miles away they are under elm.

@mrredneckcracker I live In the norntern lp in Michigan an here it does matter ash, poplar, choke cherry or for whites apple orchards there must be a reason for this i've never found any morel around a oak or bass wood

Ive found through 30yrs morel hunting it dont matter what kind of damn tree's-- people go out and look more for tree's than mushrooms - dont believe all the bullshit (look for dead elm's ,popular , maple , oaks, blah blah ....just look for the morels in a well wooded area that has good vegitation thats all : )
