If you were financially sound, then you wouldn't be watching this video; or others like it. He was talking about firing employees that undermine the business that you have worked to build. Also, Larry is speaking of metaphorical employees that are, in fact, your bad ideas that also undermine the person you are trying to improve. He's trying to help people, not tear them down.

The point is (which you seem to be too dumb or closed-minded to see), is that other workers are kept on who are not necessarily high performers, but simply didn't rock any boats or were not "yes" people.

No one is disputing layoffs during critical times. the question is WHO are they laying off.

If you think being laid off is simply politics then you're not very smart. I suppose you think that a company should just allow itself to go under so EVERYONE loses their jobs. The fact is most people that get laid off are great workers but that doesn't mean that a company should keep them on the payroll for that reason alone. Personal accountability says that when something bad happens find a solution and STOP blaming others even if you had no control over it. As 4 your last remark get a life!

Hey...I jsaw a lot of people get laid off at a corporation, and I KNOW it was not done fairly. It was just a game of politics, not performance.

All this bull is like Jack Welch's philosophy of always turning over the bottom 15%.

The "theory" of it might sound like it makes sense, but in practice, HUMANS do not behave that way.

I hope you end up getting targeted for that bottom 15% soon... then you'll get a taste of it.
