The first Harley Davidson part 1

This may be the VERY FIRST Harley Davidson EVER MADE ( several numeral 1 were found stamped inside engine cases and on fenders ,the tank etc.) It is now on display at the H-D Museum in Milwaukee WI.
You could put the pieces of the Ten Commandments next to this BEAUTIFUL machine and they wouldnt get as much attention as this Bike does.
For me It was a very moving experience to see it,
some moron walked into the room and said "So, Thats the first one ever made???...huh"....like it was a lawn mower on display.....I had to INSTANTLY fight the OVERWHELMING DESIRE to snatch the ball point pen from my pocket and VIOLENTLY JAM IT INTO THE SOFT TISSUE OF HIS THROAT, OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN !!!
If this IDIOT couldnt appreciate the "gravity" of the moment......then why did he even come???

I don't think I ever said it was the first motorcycle, I know about Roper and Daimler's bikes. I said that Harley Davidson claims it's THEIR first motorcycle.

Since HD started in 1903, no doubt it is not the first bike. Roper, Daimler among others can claim this. But finding the first of anything still running is amazing, and that beauty will run. And it is, in fact, the very first Harley Davidson. The sole 1903, was marked as a 1904 in their own museum for years, because they simply were not sure, they are now...now they have to find another 1904...

it might be a masterpiece but its not the first motorcycle. the 1885 diamler benz retier wagon was the first ?
