  • @wmbrown6 Mercer was one of the WGN personalities who was mercilessly mocked on a consistent basis by Steve Dahl & Garry Meier, notorious haters of the Tribune's radio and television stations. The latter did the derogatory voice imitation with an overpowering lisp thrown in for good measure. Ironically Meier now works for WGN radio!

  • @heine71 One of his sons, Neil, was once the morning drive newscaster on WXRT-FM.

  • The announcer heard at the end of the "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" promo was Clif Mercer.

  • Hahahahaha!!!! I recorded this same episode of Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea, when it aired on WGN in chicago--in 1992! This is so funny!

  • From Chicago, with longtime Chicago TV commercial voiceover Al Parker.
