Henry Purcell - Music for the Funeral of Queen Mary (Main Theme from A Clockwork Orange)

Oh joy. I could have spent time and chorded this, which while being harder and more time-consuming to learn, would have allowed me to do this video in one clean take. But no! I thought it would be funner to do it with four guitars for a kind of epic effect. Stupid me, because with the shitty programs I have at hand, I entered syncing hell. This video is definitely out of sync with the audio feed, but damnit, the music is the focus.

Notice the extremely ghetto picture-in-picture I had to do. I would, ahem, *acquire* some better video editing programs, but you know, my 56k limits my options.


Now, about the song.

Ever since I heard this song in Conker's Bad Fur Day for the N64, I loved it. Then, I saw A Clockwork Orange, which upped the awesome factor of this song tenfold. I'll be honest and say that I dissected a MIDI file in order to achieve the tab. My ear's not great at picking up the different trumpet notes from the MP3 of this song that I have. Like I said earlier, I decided to keep the song in four tracks, much like the MIDI I had. I could have combined all the tracks into a chorded version, but this guitar "fourchestra" is kinda cool.

I also got interested in this music from Conker's Bad Fur Day. It's amazing how a game about a violent squirrel swimming in poop and watching a flower orgasm could pay tribute to one of the most artistic achievements in music, or in film for that matter. I tried to learn this on guitar, but the tab I found has a lot of strange chords that require you to stretch your fingers really far, and I lost patience.

I have not played conker's bad fur day, but I remember seeing commercials for it when I was little. And after seeing a clockwork orange, I was tickled that they parodied it in the game! (:P I watched a bit of the playthrough just to see it lol)

I recently figured out an easy barrechord arrangement for this on guitar. You should play the chords far down the neck and make sure to hit the bottom string as this is usually to important note for melody
