Carving tutorial

A splice joint (joins pieces of wood together) is a fairly complex joint that is quite useful for making bush craft pot hangers. This attempts to show how anyone with a good knife can practice some basic wood carving techniques with basic household items and some practice.

Push cuts are definitely easier with a polished edge. Actually Joe Talmadge wrote quite a few articles and put a lot of tests out about that. If you wanna read some of that let me know and I'll hit you up with a link for what I've managed to gather so far
