  • What a stupid comment. Just because YOU can't see the reason for a 50Mb connection, doesn't mean others don't, and i'm not talking about business owners either.

I use a lot of video services online, a typical film at 720p resolution takes up 7Gb and sometimes more, with an ADSL connection these take about 6 hours to download! Familys of 4+ members who all have their own PC's, games consoles etc are going to need a 50mb connection as standard, everything is getting bigger/better quality.

  • you've got it completely wrong. 50mb is the only package on virgin media that does not get monitored at all. so think again before talking.

  • lool i live in bristol aswell

  • @DemonTraven I'm in the UK,

Virgin Media at 10Mb's or thereabouts. Check out my speed test video's

  • @Films4You well i don't live in the US and we have like 4-5 internet providers, and if you want a fast connection you're going to pay around 70-80$ for 50mbps , i think 100mbps is around 130-140$ each month

  • @DemonTraven Yep, ISP will have one million and one excuses for not giving the speed people pay for.

Although IMHO Virgin Media is better than some others I've heard about.

  • @Films4You also spike moments (when everyone's using a pc) then ur connection could lose some speed, but ofc u know this i think

  • i get 16.74mb/s here through wireless, i wonder how much i can get with lan...

  • @CamoPeng 10mb/s is still quite fast. Think yourself lucky. Some of my friends can only get 4Mb/s and they live in the UK...

  • @CamoPeng

    india is still on 256kbps

im not indian i just know sum1 in india with it

  • South Africa is still on 10MB... sigh.
