  • I got the clear from O'reillys. You can find it cheaper at a wholesale paint store or on the internet. If you use good paint on all the coats, it will be stronger and look better, but if you're trying to save money, just make sure you use a good primer and a good clear. other wise it will chip right off with the slightest bump or scratch.

  • where do you get the clears?

  • I use oil based enamel for the primer and base, then I like to put a Urethane clear over it, cause it's very strong and scratch resistant. I would use Urethane or better for all three, but I have to be budget conscious. gloss or semi gloss tend to level better than flat or matte.

  • what kind of paint are you using?
