Dominic 9H1M , his team 9H1LO, 9H1VW and Mike OE3MZC have managed to establish a long distance radio contact using live video mode (ATV FM) on 1275MHz (23cm) SHF band between Corfu Island (Greece) and Malta
using 30 Watt HF-Power and 35 Element directional Yagi antennas with homemade amateur radio transmitters and analogue ASTRA-Satellite TV receivers. Such extraordinary long distance contacts can only be done by means of EVAPORATION DUCTS over calm and hot sea. It is a form of extreme radio propagation that has been used for this record breaking contact in the 1,2GHz band.
