  • ...I got a better idea....start a new term or phrase to describe those at Wall Street.

    let's collectively called them

    "FINANCIAL TERRORISTS"

    :)

  • im pretty sure bailouts were being discussed before obama was voted into office.not to mention the republicans havent necessarily said they completely oppose the bailouts, just the amounts and who the money goes to. besides, the economy was a big deal, but it wasnt the only issue voters had in mind when they went to the polls.unfortunately some of us were concerned about war crimes, etc. not to say anything VERY effective has been done yet, but ya know... politicians(mine and yours) suck balls

  • vote libertarian. small government more individual freedoms.

  • bailouts are such a terrible idea, if you create an economic climate where bailouts are the norm you are telling a business boss (who doesnt give a fuck and is almost deffo one of the greediest 0.01% of the population, hence why they are where they are) that its ok for him to ignore good business practice in favour of reaping huge profits, its like telling a gambler that you'll cover his losses, recipe for disaster

  • just stop paying your taxes!!!!!!

  • this is what you dems voted for, you get what you deserve, ps we told you so.

  • Right On!

  • A-men, Sister.

  • When Denmark makes a Bank "stimulus" (read: debt) package...simplistic populist politics are useless at the least and damaging at the worst.

  • for the first time i agree with your principle.

  • I never thought I'd agree with you on anything. Hmmm. Common ground. Hmmm... when I agree with you, you're not nearly as sexy. I need therapy.

  • Yeah...that'll work

  • L - don't get overwhelmed by the theather of it all. The lights, the sounds, the dramatism adn over-acting are all part of the show. Is it any wonder that many businesses that DO NOT need to shut down are doing so as a way of signaling a 'consensus' towards the newly elect and then all of a sudden the explosion of Gaza. Read between the lines and you will see beyond the ephemeral tugs for control.

  • @Gyrode,

I agree with you. And good analysis. :) But all done and implemented by various members of the elite. Greed, control, and to set up their NWO. :(

  • People didn't feel "robbed" when they saw their investments going up, and their house prices going up - and forgetting about the inevitable recession. I mean, people like Madoff piss me off, and companies like AIG who won't give public accounting of the money yet...but still being "robbed" by the elite still leaves out state-companies like Fannie Mae who pushed loans in the guise of "the american dream" and supposedly helping lower income borrowers.

  • I think a big reason for the "economic crisis" is this idea that people are entitled to crap, and if they don't get it, someone is CHEATING them or something.

In retrospect, what we call a crisis is paradise, and the work needed to be done to obtain it is much safer and easier.

Some people understand how difficult it is operate a successful business. I won't say that business never engage in efficient or heinous activities. But the government and certain individuals do it much more so.

  • again, first of all I was joking. On the other hand, I was serious. Two things to elaborate: yes, its my debt too. And my money too was used..just like yours. I'm owed some of that bailout too and with interest. We were all robbed by the elite. Our money and debt was robbed, taken and given to banks, corporations, and CEOs too. Secondly, I was hitting home for a point

of the seriousness of the economic crisis here and also worldwide. And for a rhetorical solution. sheesh, wake up!

  • haha :) First of all in a way, I was joking. On the other hand, I'm serious. The bailouts and the printing up of money of what we don't already have, was given to the banks and to CEOs and corporations. But its all due to the elite destroying their present world system and increasing their set up of a new world system...the NWO. Its inevitable due to their greed and for more control, but primarily to Bible Prophecy. And there is and will be further cyclic and cascading effects too. :(

  • Someone should slap you. What makes you think you deserve any of that shit? You do realize that the government makes money through taxation, right? Its debt is your debt and my debt.

The US economy sucks because an economy NATURALLY must have a period of suckiness. Anything the government tries to fix it will only make the problem last longer or create an even BIGGER burden for our grandchildren.

Even in paradise, the sun does not shine every day.

  • OH NOES!!!

  • On top of that - there was global demand for those repackaged toxic "securities." It wasn't like they were pushed down people's throats. Almost everybody bought them, since they were in denial of the upcoming bursting bubble. Some financial companies (and people) chose not to buy them.

  • You seem to forget that the financial crisis has to do with frozen credit markets, and everything stems from that. Also, the US isn't the only country with a "stimulus' package. This is just a trendy "anti-corporate" grandstanding message.

  • Well she does seem to have all the facts, presents a reasonable argument, and WTF??? It's easy to be against something, try being for something.

  • corporations are supposed to pay there workers, not the other way around. i dont want my tax dollars going to a bunch of greedy aristocrats. they have enough money to save there own damn companys, our government is in enough debt as it is.
