Mexican migrants risk all to reach US

Poverty-stricken Mexicans in search of a better life are risking everything to cross illegally into the US.

With security tightened on many sections of the border, would-be illegal immigrants are forced to cross over inhospitable and dangerous terrain.

More than 1,600 people have died in harsh desert areas in the last eight years.

Al Jazeera's Franc Contreras reports from Arizona.

@bigtyrone83 If you ever lived in Mexico or a another country like Guatemala, Salvador, ext.. and actually saw the difference of poverty.. you would understand that in reality the immigrants actually have a reason to move.. your making it sound like America is one of the lowest countries, economic wise worldwide.. I mean I am a proud American and the county that i am living in is a great country full of opportunities... The only reason immigrants risk their life's is for a better future

but if they are lucky, and by chance, they might end up working as lawn work slaves for an old wealthy retired dentist, lawyer, or doctor and get paid a few dollars. but still not have enough to buy the things they need to live.. There is no american dream.

they do everything they can to reach america for a better life, the question is what better life? Theres no chance in america, its poverty. The american economy is dead, lots of americans struggle to feed thier children , they cant afford medical attention, people are hungry and homeless, major american cities are falling into ruin, the wealthy get stronger off of the poor and mid class. the immagrants dont understand that they are going from one poverty to another when they come to the USA.
