I love Kate, but the video and song are a bit much. I feel like there was a reason the video was released almost three months after the song...and it might be because the video wasn't good or the song wasn't successful. Much rather have "Sunshine in my Sky" or "Sandcastles" as a single...

99 times ring a bell to anyone. Yea I'm pretty sure she can handle her self and take on the world as a single woman. Also, it is sometimes good to be ambiguous in your artwork so interpretation can take place. Most literary works and and artworks are often interpreted differently. Shakespeare is a prime example; look at all the theories that are manifested from his acts. I like this song because it gives you a clear image in your mind but at the same time, the video allows room for me to think.

Love Kate Voegele as an artist, regardless of the "mood" conveyed in a video. I shoot a Nikon D7000 and find that photography is purely subjective as well.... Kindly Unspoken happens to be a fave....

this is confusing. i dont fully understand how some of the video relates to the song..

@Forty2Times With that said, I don't think Kate really worried about accessibility this time around after having to deal with being signed to a major label for the past few years. So much meaning and honesty can be lost if all an artist concentrates on is pleasing everyone. She's letting her true artistry shine through without "big" men in suits telling her how to do it. We'll see how it goes! :)
@frumdamuddygreezy I can assure you, Ms. Voegele has way more inner strength than you're giving her credit for. Obviously you haven't heard much of her other music. Take a listen to "Sweet Silver Lining," "It's Only Life," "Lift Me Up," "Gravity Happens" - and many others - and you'll take that statement back. Kate's songs are about so much more than "affections of a man." Trust me. Don't be so quick to judge an artist on one song.
