Voters Reject GOP Extremism

It was an election day in a number of states across the US yesterday. Ohio, the anti-union legislation that would have limited collective bargaining rights failed, with almost 6% of voters rejecting the law. Maine, by a margin of 60 to 40% voters rejected a new Republican law that would have ended same day voting registration. Mississippi, the Personhood Amendment that would have defined life as beginning at conception, also lost. So how should we look at this? Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks discusses.

@rextrek We have disasters every Spring and Summer and they are called Tornadoes. Tornadoes wipe out entire city blocks and towns every year. there none of what you desribed here. though being a free country people are allowed to practice any of these as long as they obey all laws.

"Winning" by a 60/40 margin or less doesn't exactly put America in very good light. It definitely doesn't show that we are moving in a progressive manner, by any means. In the last 35 years we've backslid into 'puritan' politics and the corrupt ways of politicians/corporations of the late 1800s and early 1900s. It would need to be an 80/20 margin to show that we are on the cusp of common sense people waking up and getting involved in the political arena - for whatever that's worth!
