  • It does have double valvesprings, but keep in mind my car is an LT1 with one of the biggest off-the-shelf cams. With an LS1, you can get away with a good set of beehives that may work just as well with a mild cam. You won't be hitting high enough rpm to get bad valve float.

    My cam has to be spun above 6500 to really get into the power, something that rarely happens on the street for obvious reasons.

  • Yeah, the telstars are big & little's, I swap between them and the salad shooters depending on where I'm going.

    The cam is a Comp Cams CC306, a little smaller than the GM847.

  • did you have to go with a double valve spring? i just bought a 99 Z28 LS1 6speed... lookin for a mild cam i can throw in with the stock valvetrain/springs-nothing too crazy, im gonna be driving it daily-any ideas?

  • car looks alot better with the wheels. also, what cam are you running?
