  • Almost 30 circuses tour the UK each year, and around seven feature animals. Four of these circuses use wild animals who currently include lions, tigers, an elephant, camels, zebras and others.

Anne the elephant has been in the circus over 50 years, being taken from Sri Lanka as a baby. Every day that she remains at the circus is one less day in which she could spend in real retirement, enjoying a better life without the travelling and confinement she now has.

    This video is from 2010.

  • I hate circuses, and sometimes humans are worst than shit!

  • Why writing in capital letter? Have a look at Annie the elephant getting regular beatings by a piece of Rumanian scum and allowed by a Brtish owner Bobby Roberts who is in charge of this outfit.and pretends he doesn't know.WAKE UP SUNSHINE.

  • i would LOVE to help you, but how do i do it? do i donate money?

  • I wish they shut down circuses which include wild animals. i remember that even as a kid I didnt like when some animal trainer forced tigers, lions, etc. to do tricks, i just wanted that part of performance to end asap. Wild animals are not supposed to be taught to do tricks.

  • I think it's OTT to suggest that ALL animals in ALL circuses should be banned. If you want to ban dog acts, you logically have to ban people training their dogs at home, and seeing eye dogs. Dogs genuinely enjoy being challenged - whether catching frisbees or pulling sleds - providing the training is patient, humane and appropriate, I have no problem with them catching frisbees in a circus for example. Lets treat animals with respect, but circus performers too. No generalizations please.

  • @littlesercet

I never said there were no animals at all did I, I just said they were not at all common, as implied in the video. As I said I have never even seen one advertised.

  • @elfwhitewave i can name two circuses that have animals and there are alot of animals the circuses are bobby roberts and the great british circus,

  • @littlesercet

I know I have been watching her recovery video blogs on the zoos website - great aint it, she's improved so much.

But still animals in circuses in england are rare, there is a huge field near my house and it hosts a circus pretty much every week for most of the year and I've never seen one with animals - ever (i'm 28). I know some exisit but its certainly not common like this video claims.

  • @elfwhitewave annie is now retired and the great british circus has animals along with bobby roberts
