Just a quick video to put the information out there and see if anyone has had the same problem. Last weekend in Hunting Camp, I was teaching kids firearm saftey and explaining how some firearms have saftey switches. With the saftey on I pulled the trigger on my Remington 700 SPS Varmint, and the X-Mark Pro Trigger snapped right off!! My hunt was ruined and I was very upset. Remington is standing behind their product through their dealer, but I want to get the information out there and share my experience with others.

  • I am an engineer. From what I can see in your vid, It looks like poor design as well as the material. The screw hole takes up 90% of the material. If you look, you can see that there is nothing left on either side of the screw hole. They should have more material, maybe a smaller screw and it could have been made of steel. Did you see the special show on remington under fire.? I know you have the later trigger, but this would make me get a different rifle. I had a new Beretta that I traded in.

  • @freeze427 I've only seen clips the online clips of 'remington under fire' and laughed at the sensationalist journalism. Just stop and think critically for a moment. There have been millions of Rem 700s sold and how many misfires? If it was so unsafe, you would think there would be more incidents of misfires. Unless it is safe, and there are other factors at play. Sounds to me more like the problem is a user oriented one, not the firearm. That being all said the X-Mark tigger SUCKS.

  • @ScreamingReelsTV --- So the X Mark trigger sucks, but the Walker trigger MUST BE operator error? The Remington people admitting under oath that the Walker trigger will go off without a trigger pull in certain circumstances is good enough for me. The designer saying there is an issue is good enough, along with documents from Rem engineers duplicating the issue on 1/3 of the returned rifles. Settlements include the condition that the settlement cannot be discussed. So it remains confidential.

  • @Magnumwideglide Millions of rifles sold without problems, and how many accidental discahrges? Should be looking more at the user than the rifles. What was the condition of that rifle? Have they tinkered with it? Maintained it? Too bad nobody wants to accept responsibility and blame anymore. Everybody's elses fault but their own. Who pointed the firearm in a nonsafe direction to begin with? The US is infamous for frivalous lawsuits, this sounds like more of the same. Be critical of media.

  • i just bought an ADL .270 with one of those triggers, so im gonna have to watch out for that, not trying to be a smartass or anything, but that's why you should'nt pull the trigger with the safety on...

  • @caseyreavis the problem with this trigger is that it is made from Metal Injectetion Moulding, a cheap quick process to make small parts. MIM is known for being weak. On such a crucial part of the gun, it really should be made from billet aluminium or steel. Except for my remington870, every other gun I own has a strong trigger that wouldn't break like this one did from a simple trigger pull with the saftey on. The design is flawed in my opinion.

  • @freeze427 Did you see the video on you tube that explains what people who think they know guns do? Search :Remington 700 Trigger - Creating a Negligent Discharge.

Also search Remington's response to Remington Under Fire.

Many people know enough about guns to get themselves and others in trouble. I can see how some one could get killed if this were done to any gun. Remember the number one rule of gun safety is to NEVER allow the barrel to point at any one. Be Safe All.

  • @highonbeingnormal not anymore that's why i don't like remington that much anymore

  • @Steppe79 its remington they are getting lazier and lazier it seems

  • Get a winchester model 70!

  • warranty

  • @freeze427 Just buy the Jewel trigger and be done with it. Google it.

  • YEa dude. The mark x pro trigger is a POS. I am going ot buy a rifle basix trigger to go in mine, thats the one that USED to come in Remingtons. IT is adjustable from 1.5 lbs up to about 4 lbs and it was an EXCELENT trigger unlike this POS!

  • In Soviet Russia triggers break you...

  • Thats pretty shitty made. A trigger is never supposed to break!!

  • Remington doesn't give a SHIT!
