Simon was correct about him not being commercial, but fuck commercialism. He has an amazing voice, yet miley's the untalented shit making money. Go figure.

Taylor is the definition of doing it your way.
He owns his own soul, his own record label, is doing well despite what some think. And he has one of the best voices around. We enjoy him and follow his career every day.. Hes in it for the long haul.

Google "Taylor Hicks' Self-Titled debut album is certified platinum," then tell me his album didn't "go platinum." He's got the freakin' award hanging on his wall.
Hicks' record sales have been higher than both Idol winners Lee DeWyze and Kris Allen...combined.

@gotham61 Um. I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. You may want to look it up before you open your mouth. His debut album was Certified Platinum, meaning the record company shipped out a million copies, but he sold 700,000 which doesn't make it a Platinum selling album. In fact, it was the second lowest selling album in American Idol winner history.

@mddale31 Taylor has sold about 900K albums since 2006. If you consider that 'not many', then you really high expectatons. 1st album also has a RIAA platinum certification.
