  • I loved Tom Paxton from the first time I heard him probably about 62 (OK, I am an old geezer) but I have never been able to fully enjoy him with that danged piano. It really takes away from the performance. I hate it.

  • Wow... this takes me back. I've been seeing Mr. Paxton in concert since I was about 8. I'm 52 now and just saw him again a couple of months ago. I wish I could get this whole performance.

  • I am an Indian.Never had a chance to meet this gentle colossus. But in the 80s I heard this song on a gramophone disc and its fragrance remained with me. Today I am 62 and I am so grateful to the good person who posted it that I can hear and see Tom Paxton. What a wonderful song. It makes me wish to become a better human being.

  • Gosh it takes me back! Back to the early 1980s, when I saw him at the Festival Hall. I too spoke to him, briefly, and yes, he was a very nice man - kind, gentle, self-effacing. One of those people you're glad has been around - they've made a difference.

  • fantastic!

  • O.M.G.How did i ever forget this one it used to be one of my favs. Never heard it in years. a great writer, singer and song. Thanks so much for posting this. I wish i could get a copy of that show.

  • Tom Paxton hits the nerve....and makes you weep ......with pleasure!

  • I had the honour and pleasure of meeting and talking to Tom about 3 years ago after a gig in Buxton. He truly is every bit as nice a guy as he appears to be. Thanks for posting this, it has always been my favourite Paxton song.
