He didn't have it in 4wd at the start. If he DID have it in 4wd it would have pulled itself out without even using the winch. If 4wd was engaged to start with the rear left and the front right tyre would be spinning. His front right tyre wasnt even spinning (or dirty) when he demonstrated that it was 'stuck', so he only had it in 2wd. After he fitted the wheel winch, he engaged 4wd. Its no wonder he got out the second time - 4 wheel drive was actually engaged!!!....

i'm not, by any means trying to be a smart-ass here. Once one checks how an open diff works, he understand that all it takes, if at least one wheel of that axel lyes in solid ground, is to put some drag on the wheel sppining freely. That's what this device provides, and as for stress on front hubs, the car is moving as if by it's own resources( i think). Sure an idea worth copying.

who cares how much it cost...i just wonder how much the wheel realignments would cost

revolutionary? about russia in 1917? :)

I just wonder how much stress does it put on the front hubs. I could see it breaking the front hubs off. if it works then great but I dont know.
This system is cumbersome. Three main parts plus you have to bolt the winch to the wheel. The snatch block also has to be bolted. Winching from the front puts added strain on steering components. You only get one wheel winch in the kit. The Bush Winch Kit is a far better system.
