Unfortunately everybody doesn't have the ability to see what we deem as simple correlations and obviously this young lady didn't get it. It's sad when you can't have a civil discussion w/someone without them getting angry that you don't agree or needing "twitter backup". Natural hair is truly a journey and ppl should respect everyone's journey and the different outlooks towards it. This young lady hasn't learned about that part of the process. Oh and may I add, you are absolutely glowing!!!

acceptance. Finally, I think that people have the right to feel that not wearing one's natural hair is indicative of self hate. It was good to see that u were interested in discussing/debating the topic with the young lady, and did not get upset by her reaction. Especially considering that she took u out of context, and had folk being hyper-critical of u. As usual, thanx for some real talk

Here's mine: I think that people have the right to do whatever they like with their hair. People also have the right to have whatever opinions they want to have about their own hair, and about other people's hair. To be clear-->I think that people have the right to prefer relaxed hair. it, I make the argument that the hard work is not a sufficient reason to say it's not for everybody. Case in point: my father made 8 kids with my mother, but didn't stick around. Some cud say, fatherhood was not for him, and many like him. I reject that argument based on the facts that he made the kids, and the kids were his responsibility. I've said b4 that I think the real, most basic problem regarding the natural hair debate is that people don't want to let people have their own opinions.

Dre B! I'm not gon go too deep into this, cause it's been done so many times b4, and will continue to be done, by me, and by others. I will give an answer to the "go naked" theory u put forth, and that is, for those of us who accept christian scripture as our way of living, our answer is that God gave us instructions to clothe the naked bodies that He created. I think about that silly argument every time I get in the shower and look at my razor. No one is walking around with hairy legs and arm pits claiming that everyone who shaves hates themselves.
