Six Ribbons trib to J English (old version, now updated)

Against the Wind was broadcast soon after I arrived in Australia. It starred Jon English, who also wrote the music, including this song. I remember the storylines weren't interesting, but the pictures were beautiful and the music transcendant and at age 11/12 I needed something beautiful and moving in my life.

Most people sing out of tune without music, even professional singers, but when you add the music - altogether just sounds great :)

So don't be stressed about comments here of prople who are rather ignorant in real music making ;p

Thank you Sunrise! I create pieces off site, and occasionally work with others on them. I think the commenters are novice to commenting, they only really vent, not expecting to return .. which can be therapeutic. I don't think I'll take market away from John English, but I hope I remind people of "Against the Wind" ;)

That's probably very close to the truth.

Well, we all do things for ourselves - and the best is when you can give without expecting anything in return (you feel free!)

The the ultimate best is where you can just spread love and support (not fake or course) and not discouraging criticism and so on.

wow.. wish i could sing like that :) but i'm a fourteen (well, thirteen and a half) year old guitarist (and part-time bassist) learning flute, and with the amount of assignments due within the next ten weeks (about 16, give or take :S) i don't have the time to learn :( anyway, amazing voice, 9/5 :D
