What I don't get is, every time the attacker attacks, he then just sits still while the other person does his thing. In the real world, what would happen if the attacker kept attacking? Could you still do all the fancy hand and leg moves? Serious question.

The defense for a rear naked choke looks suspect to me, once it's in like it looked to be on the clip then there's no way it's coming off. Especially as easy as that.
Also just dropping to your knees won't stop a takedown.
As for being taught to cops, that could be the reason they get given tazers and pepper spray. If they try any of this on some guy wacked out his mind on pcp, game over.

I'm sorry if it came out that way. It's almost ALWAYS the practitioner and NOT the system it all comes down to. I'm just so worried about people who get that false security from praticing locks, parries etc. mindlessly against a non-resisting opponent. Btw., I'm just saying that I myself do not have the strength to pull off a lock, and if I were one of those "mindless" ones who THOUGHT he could pull it off, then... bad scenario. Hope you get my point, my friend.

This is a big problem in martial arts, someone will try something and when it does not work for them, they generalize it to all others. Notice how you gave all the credit to your attacker. You completely left out the biggest advantage of consistent personal training and the growth of a student to master a technique. Of course it didn't work for you, it was not consistently applied. I personally know officers who use, " Joint locks " on much bigger criminals with success.

Once at Krav Maga classes, we tried to apply different types of armlock, and the lesson was that they don't really work against a bigger opponent who throws fast jabs or resists. However, I'm not saying that these techniques don't work, but it depends on your opponents size, aggressiveness etc. But I must say that it's nearly impossible to armlock a person who resists and keeps twisting his entire body.
