The Shield Micra from Belkin is a clear snap on case for the iPhone 4. The case feels like is a clear acrylic or polycarbonate and offers protection without significantly changing the appearance of the iPhone 4. The trick with clear cases is not only keeping the phone clean, but also both sides of the case. As you can see in the close up, even applying the case resulted in some debris and finger prints. Another issue is that this case appears to exhibit minor watermarking.

The Shield Micra for iPhone 4 is available in clear (pictured) Royal Purple, and Black Pearl. It retails for $25.

  • This looks like a terrible case! It scratches like crazy, offers virtually no protection. and is way overpriced.

  • @mime454 yeah, most cases are $20-$30. Since it's in line with typical name-branded cases, I don't think it can be considered overpriced except in the subjective sense.

  • @wwwinsanelygreatmac Yes, I was being subjective. I think that $25 for a low quality piece of cut polycarbonate that offers almost zero protection is not worth it. It matches the price of many other case, but it does not seem to be near the quality.

  • @mime454 Well, the protection is pretty par for lightweight cases. The biggest flaw I think is the watermarking on the back. Other than that, it is what it is... a lightweight polycarbonate snap on. My goal is to give you everything you need to evaluate for your needs since what I like in a case might not be what you like. Seems like I did my job. ;)

  • Horrible case.

  • Man, this is an awful case.

    1) Offers almost no protection for the screen. Virtually any surface will touch (and scratch) the screen.

    2) The clear case will pick up scratches like crazy until it looks like ass.

    3) $25 for what is essentially a disposable case that will be used and thrown away after a few months of normal wear and tear? This is almost as bad a value as the Apple bumper case, which sells for $29.99.

Far better to use Invisible Shield instead of this thing...

  • i've got the clear smoke version of this case and i'm pretty happy with it. yes it does scratch, but i love the superslim nature of it. there's no point in getting a sleek phone and encasing it up in bubble wrap. it slips in and out of my pocket with ease which isn't possible with the grip side covers. i've dropped it a couple times and surprisingly it didn't pop off like some other snap on covers i've had. if i replace it, i'll probably replace it with the same.

  • If you want to get rid of watermark put a little baby powder on back of case, then put it on.

  • Check out this Ebay seller, STEVE.1111 for a good iPhone 4G Ultra Thin Clear Case - Only £1.69 including Screen Protector and Cleaning Cloth and FREE Delilvery!

  • great for White iphone 4!
