This is the bonus alternate ending on the UK DVD release. I never saw the final episode when it aired on the BBC so I don't know what the ending was, but on the DVD box-set it is without the alien abduction bit at the end. I prefer this ending as its more positive, as the whole series was. One of my favourite sitcoms; massively under-rated IMO!

@ChiGuy16 No, the alternate ending is Mary waking up and being abducted by Dick. It's not really the alternate ending, but it's just the bonus ending. Though, in my opinion, it's a better ending if they leave Mary on Earth.

I likeed this ending so much better! I heard this ending was filmed to leave potential for a extra season. but I wonder if this show could had continued from where MAry gets abducted, what story line could they do?

no i remember seeing this in the finalley back in '01. this was it and i think who ever put the DVD together fucked up. i mean i was only 11 but i remember i wanted to learn the memory loss thing.

Yeah me too, but when I downloaded this, it was labeled as the alternate ending.
