After a few requests - Part 2 is below
Making a potholder using the weaving loom. This one is plastic, I prefer the older metal or wood weaving looms.
Materials needed:
Loom, Crochet hook, material loops (30-32).
Stretch loops across the loom, filling all the pegs. The cross weaving is done by pushing the hook through the loops under and then over each set of loops, hooking over the peg at each end.

To finish the edges, begin at one corner and slip several loops off the pegs, slip loop two through loop one, then loop three through loop two, then loop four through loop three. Continue all around, leaving the last loop for hanging.

There are other ways to finish the edge but this is the one I chose

  • Wow. It looks amazing! And I can much better understand the edges!

  • @popparoc46 Thank you roc, that means a lot! You can sew the edges and leave the loops, I've done that to connect several to make a small rug or place mat. I'm always cutting up material for my loops to use. lol

  • I am really looking for a detailed description of how to finish the edges. I am confused by it.

  • @twintwinsin2 To finish.... you use a crochet needle to loop one one loop from the loom into the other like crocheting a chain. If you would like for me to do a better video, clearly showing the ending, let me know and I will gladly do that. I really didn't put much thought in this when I was working on it, sorry. Thank you for stopping by.

  • can you please make a video on how to end it?thanks

  • @emmerasz Well thank you! When I made the video, I didn't think anyone would be interested in it so it was a quick one. I appreciate you taking a look and commenting. I love the idea of making a purse out of them, Awesome! I will have to try that! Have a GREAT day!

  • Thank you so much!

I had stopped weaving on a loom for a while so I had forgotten how to finish it off once done.

I made a purse for my younger sister out of two pot holders and stringing together looms/string to make the handle and gave it a design with bows at the end.

Thank you so much! Though I had to keep replaying the video part where you were finishing it off since I didn't understand but I eventually got it.

  • @forevermadalyn156 I will see what I can come up with. Once you have made several pot holders, line them up for the size rug mat you want and you get heavy thread and hand sew them together. You can make rag rugs, cut scrap material into strips and weave it together and sew to bind them. I will see what I can come up with. :)

  • could u please how us how to connect them and make rugs and stuff i want to so bad but i dont know how and i cant find any videos on it
