  • The sour atste is AWESOME

  • Damson!

  • Thanks for your reply Ian

  • Damsons are small plums, you are unlikely to find them growing wild, they are ripe by the third week of september.

Sloes are small, blue black, they grow widely in the countryside on very spiny bushes, they look delicious but taste sour as hell ! They are perfect for making sloe gin,but little else in my opinion.

Damsons should be eaten raw, when very ripe,or stewed and made into pies and preserved as jam, which is absolutely delicious.

read the web to find out more :)

  • Hi could I ask what is the difference between Damsons and slows? also been new to wine making how do you know when they are ripe to pick Thanks Ian

  • Great film. I know the Farmer & his son (he has some fishing pools) and he is as friendly as he sounds.

  • agree with unfathomable :)

  • thats a beautiful little film, I love the informal style while still looking well made. Just like the smoothies!
