How would this activity actually help the patient to regain gait? Does simply putting someone in a vertical position with gravitational force do something?
Being in a vertical position is always good for the paralyzed since it puts your body in the position it is meant to be...better circulation and avoids pressure soars. The theory behind the simulation of walking is that the more the muscles are used in a particular motion then the muscles and nerves will learn to do the motions on their own. It takes a long time, but it is SO WORTH IT!!!!!
