I believe you are taking it out of context. Let's say you and another potential employee have identical credentials, except for one thing. The credit score. If they use the score as a factor in determining the outcome of who gets hired, that's not fair. Especially if that person has a lower credit because of having to make sacrifices. No employer should have to hire you, but if they use a factor that isn't relative to a person's ability or general character as the deciding criteria, that's crap.

Yea, people still would need a rate at which they could survive on. $7.25 is not that rate. The minimum wage has not been tied to an index which measures the rate of inflation. The purchasing power of the minimum wage today is nowhere near what it should be. Again, if people could afford to live, we would not need to rely on programs like the ebt card and welfare. It's simple. Not complex.

With the rate at which the value of the dollar has declined, raising the minimum wage is only a temporary fix. Perspective: The price of oil keeps going up per USD but has stayed the same for years per the gold standard. Inflation and devaluation of the USD is what the problem is. The more money the feds print and flood the markets with, the less valuable the USD becomes. So it looks like this are getting more expensive, when in reality the USD is just loosing its value.
