Zenas Hsu is one of the very talented youth violinist in the world. In his junior year of high school at Lynbrook High School, localed in San Jose, CA. Zenas was accepted into Curtis Institue of Music. Since he is leaving Lynbrook early, this is his farewell. Zenas is accompanied by the Lynbrook High School Orchestra, conducted by Dr. John Felder. Earlier this year the orchestra was fortunate to be able to play at Carnegie Hall in NY. This performance is of Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in E Major. Make special note on the musicianship also contained within this High School Orchestra band. These kids will forever remember Zenas Hsu, as will John "Doc" Felder. (Part 1 of 3) 小提琴

  • i didn't mean to imply that lynbrook or zenas hsu were not good, because I'm sure they are great. But I was just observing that the soloists were from Saratoga

  • I think chikao's message speaks for itself. I know that Zenas is not a person to speak down on others like you, no matter how they play. That is an attribute that makes a real player. Zenas's playing speaks for itself, I have seen few kids with his talent, at Saratoga, Monta Vista, Homestead, or any of the other local schools. It was a loss to Lynbrook that Zenas was so good, he was accepted to Curtis in his junior year.

  • Lynbrook is one of the top high schools in California. I was told that the orchestra received the score one week before the concert. For a public school's orchestra, this was a great accomplishment!

  • D Major!

  • Zenas is the most talented violinist I have ever seen!

    BRAVO!

  • the principal cellist is looking good

  • I believe it's in D Major.

  • lol, do you notice that at the 2006-2007 CYS competition, who were there competing, and who was the winner? (Ask one of the persons you mentioned, so you'll get a clue and learn some.) And, did you hear clearly Dr. Felder saying where Zenas was heading? Has any one from Saratoga ever been able to get there?

  • lol, do you notice that in the 2007-2008 season for CYS, both soloists are from saratoga? (vivian fu and angela hwang), and ashley lau was from saratoga too.

  • 小提琴

  • Zenas was on From the Top playing Kreutzer. The recording can be heard on NPR
