The BlackTrail built by a German company has been billed as the world's costliest electric bicycle with a price tag of just under 60,000 euros. Thanks to its design and lightweight frame it can reach a top speed of 100 kilometers per hour and go 200 kilometers on a full charge.

There is probably a Chinese copy available right now, made of carbon fibre, available for 600 euros called "The YellowTrail". Strangely, it will be be fitted with a solar powered can opener and have exposed wiring.
3 million in development? Sounds like a Government grant right there :-)

Too much money, There aren't enough rich people to make it work. BTW the electricity has to come from somewhere. Coal, Nuclear, Solar. They aren't that environmentally friendly. But they are cool, Good Luck!
