George Miller will select and mentor an emerging Australian filmmaker -- either Luke Doolan, Amy Gebhardt or Ariel Kleiman -- to direct a final film based on all the footage uploaded to YouTube Map My Summer.

To get involved upload your summer moments to http://www.youtube.com/mapmysummer by March 31.

  • Cool story bro.

  • The problem with the Australian Film Industry is that it is a Federal Government Department. So the films that get funding are decided, not by the passion of the film maker, but by the decision of a board appointed by a government official, good luck with that.

  • @KaneOzi We don't need to go to Hollywood. We need tax breaks for those who are prepared to pump the cash into a movie. Then we need to tell great Australian stories, that aren't negative, dirty, menacing or pathetic sub-cultures of Austrailian society. Great scientists and soldiers and inventors etc. Minimising costs means present day stories and maximising interest means telling stories about crime....Animal Kingdom-an awful film!

  • @GanEdenAustralia Yup let's definitely go to Hollywood! Or definitely talk to our MPs about it ;) Yay!! .

    Or DO something! Maybe????
