This is how I remember Bridgend as it was when I left in 1990. Planning madness has turned the place into a ghost town. When I worked on the Glamorgan Gazette in the 70s the town had real friendly feel to the centre. When I walked through it on return last year there was nothing, no life no feeling. If anyone wants to know how to tear the guts out of a town, take a trip to Bridgend. What a terrible shame.

@BlueShlemon Hi, it seems to me that the changing of Bridgend from a nice traditiional town to what we have today started when the old bus station was demolished and pedesrianization of the town commenced and it's been going downhill since then, it's hard for me to believe that this was filmed nearly 20years ago. I hardly recognise my hometown... although I am 21 so I would only have been 2 when you filmed this. When did it all start changing? I dont mean for it to be pedestrianised, but when did the job center get built and the train bridge road change.... dont ever remember it looking like that.

my 1st visit to bridgend in 1983 this brings happy memories i wish i know where is my sweetheart is now she is from brigdend i lost contact with her since 1984
