"I'm not going to get down on one knee. I'm not going to ask you a question. I love you, Meredith Grey. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

I think he said sixteen, but yeah you're right anyway, she was actually fifteen in the pilot.
This is one of my favourite scenes ever in this show! Meredith and Derek have come so far and this scene is just amazing and shows exactly how strong their relationship has grown through out the series. I can't even like put how much I love this scene into words, it's so great.

This took place in the abolute correct place for MerDer. Hope they celebrate the anniversary of the proposal in the elevator, cos sadly they don't have scenes in there anymore.
