I am a breeder of Havanese dogs. These are some of the items I have on hand to prepare for the birth of a litter of puppies here at Renaissance Havanese.
This is for informational purposes only.
I am not a Veterinarian. Your Veterinarian should be your first source of information.

  • Yes, opt for unprinted paper. I was able to purchase some (already shredded) from a local newspaper very inexpensively. However I have found it easier to use disposable under pads, IMO its easier to clean up. If you have a small breed, you can buy them from Walgreens one bag of large pads should get you through the delivery.

  • Is shredded paper a good bedding for a whelping box?

  • @cabelasportsmen I responded to your question, see above

  • clamp aka hemostats since you cannot see them, use your fingers to stop bleeding or tie dental floss around it in a pinch!

The catheter is a delee suction catheter, I learned about this from a breeder friend of mine.
