Popeyes has the name popeyes but it's named after a mobster from the Capone era not the famous cartoon character which would be a lot better and popeyes plays up on the minorities but it was indeed made and founded by Al Copeland in 1971 who was a Louisiana native but a whitie and Bojangles is better for the fried chicken and also founded by to old whitie's and so was Maryland fried chicken and Grandy's and Churches was founded across the street from the Alamo by a family last name Church.
I’ve not had Bojangles since 1997 (“Supreme” tenders) but have driven past the location at 101 Market Centre Drive in Tarboro, NC. The store’s 823-3450 telephone NXX reminds of that radio commercial reference in PALINdrome 2002 and an unfortunate encounter 823 days later. Unrelated: SUSAN KOMEN (b. 10/31/43: 357-36-2639); U.S. Olympic sprinter KERRon CLEMENT--born in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago on WWHB KOmen’s 42nd birthday. Anyone remember the “Where the Devil Is Tarboro, NC” T-shirts?
