Reclaim your Education - Global Week of Action!!

This is a short summary of the protests that took part during the "International Day of Action against the Commercialisation of Education" on Nov.5th 2008.

Groups in more than 20 countries on 5 continents arranged protests and events as part of that day of action.

This was the first step towards the globalisation of the protests!

The platform "International Students Movement" is now calling for a "Reclaim your Education - Global Week of Action" for April (20/04 - 29/04): http://www.emancipating-education-for-all.org/content/global-week-action-2009

The forces responsible for the increasing commercialisation of education around the world operate globally - so we need to globalize our protest as well!!

Let's get organized and unite - in our struggle for Free and Emancipatory education - worldwide!!

I was surprised as well. But I guess they were too busy focussing on their local protests.
