After shooting a doe in the afternoon, I recorded the blood trail and recovery of my deer. As any hunter would be I was a bit excited. The H&R .444 is a GREAT weapon and leaves one hell of a blood trail. Makes for easy tracking.
Easy tracking, lets face it if that were a buck the meat would be strong,I generally believe in a base of the neck shot for an instant kill. That .444 has good distance and dropping power and she was about 80-90 lbs.right?A buck with his adrenalin and testosterone would be so gamy tasting after being scared and struggling.Good luck with your hunting and better watch shooting those does where I'm from it's illegal always.
Im suprised the doe even ran after you shot it...usually they just drop dead with a 444 and it looked like you hit it real good did you have a scope on it and how far did you shoot it
i usually hunt with a .270, 30-06 and sometimes a .308. i have never seen a blood trail like that! i usually just find a few spots of blood here and there and have to rely on push marks in the leaves. i do own a .444 but have never hunted with it but considering it now. hahahah

One of my best stands is 30yds from a fast river. I need deer down instantly.
Barring headshot, massive trauma is needed to stop them, or they'll hit that river every freakin time.
Thats why I carry a 12ga, 444, or 480Ruger in that stand.
Like you've shown, big holes leak big blood.
Was that a factory round?
