A detailed review of the Ohana Sopranino ukulele (SK-21).

The sopranino ukulele used in this review was sent to me by TheUkuleleShop. Thanks to Richard and Jana for being so helpful. Take a look at their website here:

This ukulele was provided by the Ohana Ukulele Company. Check out their main website:

This is a terrific little (very little) ukulele. If you already have a tenor and a soprano, for instance, and you want something a little different, this sopranino might just fit the bill. It could make an ideal 3rd or 4th instrument in your collection.

  • Ok,

    Last question ken please:

I wrote to Ohana for knowing specs and they told that currently the sk-25 comes with Grover geared tuners (no friction ones any more). So, is it still well balanced towards the body? I ask you this because my concert uke with geared tuners balances towards the head.

And can sk-25 be tuned on gcea?

    best regards,

    Ernest

  • @ernestpierre All sopranos balance better with with friction tuners, but the Grovers work well. It is tuned gCEA. You can replace the high G with a lower G if you prefer.

  • sorry, I mean: I am thinking of buying a better ukulele. But I would like to know if is it dificult to play high notes on the fretboard of a soprano, or is it better the concert?

  • @ernestpierre It may be slightly easier on a concert, but it makes no difference to me.

  • Ken, I have an apc concert ukulele. I am thinking of buying a soprano, but I do not know if a could play high notes. Is it better sk or ck? I would like to know your opinion, please.

  • @ernestpierre Don't quite understand you. An Ohana soprano would be SK. SK-35G for instance. This soprano on the video is smaller and is usually tuned higher than a regular soprano.

  • @OhJoyLOL Yes, nearly every uke ever made is bigger than this one.

  • so would the pineapple soprano be larger than this one?

  • I've just gotten my hands on one of these and I can firmly say... I'm really really happy with it. Very hard to let go once you get your hands on it.

  • @KenMiddletonUkulele Ah, ok then. Wonderful review sir.
