But it DOES devalue to say "epidemic." What if someone said there's an "epidemic" of gay people or an "epidemic" of African Americans. It IS dehumanizing.
-
seaqueue it isn't right to say it's an epidemic as autism isn't a disease or illness
-
AMEN! I am not a strange neurotypical, I'm a normal autist.

Beautiful people, they're just right to God... they're just right to me.

very profound. nice! blessings.

True; but "bringing people together" isn't one of my highest priorities.

I don't think it's fair to criticize the use of the word "epidemic." It's more of a medical or academic term, and I don't think it is meant to devalue people who are autistic. It is a word used to convey that, apparently, the percentage of neuro-atypical babies born is on the rise. I can see the logic and passion on both sides.

Yeah, saying that "neurotypicals" are the ones who are weird is certainly a way of bringing people together.

Short but powerful. Thank you. I know.

Awesome!~!
yes it's great isn't it - I should make it clear I can't take the credit, but its creator wants to remain unknown. In fact I'll add that info to its description
