@MrCherryJuice Not a bad tune there buddy i give you that!

@chill66blog - Sorry, I didn't give you the title of the second tune. It's 'The Nazz are Blue'. You Tube it on the 'Shapes of Things' CD with Jeff Beck on vocals. For the solo he sustains notes before dipping back into the Elmore James-style lick. Prior to the Yardbirds, Jeff says he would have two guitars going at once, with, I assume, one droning and feeding back through and echoplex while he solo'd over top. He was at the forefront of so many rock guitar matters.

@chill66blog - Two tunes come to mind:
'What do you want from the 'Roger the Engineer' UK album. YouTube the version with vocals; the one on US LP 'Havng a Rave-Up' is different. There's a bit of feedback at the start, but at around 2:30 Jeff starts to stretch. This was psych guitar before Hendrix, who would likely only discover the power he had when he landed in the UK and found himself standing in front of a Marshall stack (or two) in some tiny London studio.

@MrCherryJuice Please point me in the direction of this feedback from beck in the yardbirds..

Funny: Jeff wears open shirt (c/w medallion!), plays Les Paul guitar, and grooves on catchy tune. Peter Frampton - another excellent player - would get crucified by the media when doing the same a couple years later (though Peter did sell more records). Thankfully they're both still around and playing better than ever.

@chill66blog - Sorry, but Beck was doing the feedback thing prior to replacing Clapton in the Yardbirds ('65) and made good use of it during his tenure with that innovative band. Hendrix was a huge Beck fan before he even moved to London (and stardom), because Beck was - really - the only one moving the electric guitar forward. Clapton, Green and the rest - great as they were - were going backwards, to the Blues. Beck also did the Blues, but he was moving things forward...always.

@TheHavalaff Beck isn't the master of Feedback lol, Hendrix ring a bell?lol

This is 37 years ago....look how good he is, he's only gotten crazier good since then. Saw him a few months ago...he's amazing. No one comes very close at all to his creativity with the guitar.

theres some stuff about UPP in wikileaks which i updated some time ago..i will have to update it again sadly..also a very kind person has set up a steve amazing facebook page..
Whats soo kickass about Jeff Beck is that he will always do something new. He does not stick to one type of music. "is there anything Jeff can do that you cant Clapton?" Eric: "well the thing he dose with his thumb and the whammy bar is amazing- i cant do that." "what about you Jeff? is there anything clapton can do that you cant" Jeff: "No." People in the room start to laugh. Jeff: "no, i mean it. i can do it all." I read that in rolling stone.

@jdallessandro what? overrated? I think hes actually pretty underrated compared to other guitarr players like slash and eric clapton. He definitly deserves more publicity!!
