From a performance in New York City of the Yiddish Theater songs "Shpil Di Fidl, Shpil" (Play the Fiddle, Play) and "Yidl Mitn Fidl" (Yidl With His Fiddle), both from classic 1936 film "Yidl Mitn Fidl," which starred Molly Picon.

I love the film with Molly Picon, but it is also wonderful to see / hear this magnificent performance with such a splendid arrangement. Do you plan to record this version commercially - I would certainly buy it.

this is so BRILLIANT, such passion, such movement (especially at 0:50 i love the smile and movement, how they're combined--as well as after 1:30 how the body and facial movements move with the music).

@Pitfossil Ich finde, man braucht kein Mittelhochdeutsch dafür - die Basisgrammatik ist "geböhmackeltes" Deutsch mit ein paar Sonderregeln. Aber der Wortschatz ist halt so völlig anders... Man versteht immer nur Brocken.

Even though it is a tad too fast for my taste, this is still a very beautiful interpretation of Yidl mitn Fidl. Very nice perfomance

Hamit, wenn man mal mit Mittelhochdeutsch gequält wurde bildet man sich ein Jiddisch zu verstehen - vergiß´es, aber solche Lieder sind einfach traumhaft.
