my half build 1974 yamaha dt175, i have not re-covered the seat yet so it is not on the bike so i made a temp out of MDF and bubble wrap. NOTE TO SELF NEVER MAKE A SEAT OUT OF MDF AND BUBBLE WRAP!!! ha ha

    I've got an older DT-175, and you can tell when you get into the powerband. Not like an actual dirtbike with the expansion chamber and doesn't hit hard, it just kinda takes off real smooth and when you hit the powerband it just takes off smoothly.

  • "does the dt175 have a power band " all bikes have a power band its the rev range between maximum torque and maximum horsepower output, however the air cooled DT is a very basic powerplant- no power valves, reed or anything like modern 2-smokes so it delivers its 17h/p in a very linear "one dimensional" manner.

  • just woundering cuz i have a 83 cr125 and it has a crack were the main bearing sits i was gunna rebuild but now i need a new block so i was thinken of modifyen my frame and putten a dt175 motor or somthen in there.
