  • @NFox6 The bends usually happen at depths more than 10 metres or so, And happens after breathing from air bottles, The nitrogen in your blood (that is present in the air we breathe) is compressed at depth after some time there, and if you ascend too quickly, the nitrogen forms bubbles in your blood ( a bit like opening a bottle of Soda),,and you know what happens then!

    At the depth he was at for the short time he was, and not using SCUBA gear, the bends are not likely to happen,
