Already oredered from CMS ... but your place was about 4 bucks cheaper on a 40 dollar item :o(

@TheUFOeffect: I would also try using long ring magnets. You could just bolt them down into place. Or if its easier use an electromagnet.
-
@Bantokfomoki: Try magnet4less. com. they seems cheap and have good sized magnets.

Good ... keep at it and in less than 50 years you'll be as ignorant as me ;o)
I just ordered a 50 dollar magnet for CMS Magnetics to do my experiment. I tried to use my 1/2x1/2x1" neodymium magnets that I used before but couldn't get them assembled in my little box. One flew out and nearly hit my head, then it disappeared ... somewhere. I gave up and broke down for another 50 bucks. Oh well, it's my last experiment on this idea ... so ... what the heck...

@Bantokfomoki: I'm taking ap physics and ap chemistry right now

If you want a degree in physics, you should obtain it from a credible university and not from me ... or ... from the internet. Get some good physics textbooks and get a head start.

@Bantokfomoki: It's not that i need to understand, its that i want to understand. I want to go to college for a Ph.D in physics hoping to study advanced propulsion for a career. I'm a senior in highschool.
i would say liquid magnet inside a rodin coil at the right power might levitate and at the right rotation of the liquid liquid magnet might be a ferrofluid because it might case a different reaction because north and south pole will separate maybe this will work what do you think

@TheSaltysack No. I don't think that will work. You need to do something additionally. No matter how strong a magnetic field is ... it won't go anywhere. It will just sit there being magnetic.
